Sandeep Trivedi, a resident of Rajasthan, has been visually impaired since birth. Life for him has never been easy—navigating through the challenges of education, accessibility, and societal perceptions was a constant struggle. Yet, his unwavering determination and confidence helped him carve his own path. Today, he proudly serves as the Principal of a Government Blind School, inspiring both his students and peers through his achievements. As an educator, Sandeep always believed in giving his students the best possible guidance. However, teaching was not without hurdles. He had to rely heavily on Braille books, which are bulky, difficult to carry, and often limited in content. To ensure his students understood concepts properly, he had to adopt various alternative methods of teaching, which demanded extra effort and time. Although effective, these methods sometimes restricted his ability to innovate and limited his teaching resources compared to his sighted counterparts.
In 2025, Sandeep received the Jyoti AI Smart Glasses, an advanced assistive technology device designed to empower persons with visual impairment. The glasses use artificial intelligence to read printed and handwritten text, recognize objects, identify currency, and even help in digital navigation. For Sandeep, it was a life-changing innovation that opened new doors in his professional journey. The Jyoti AI Smart Glasses have transformed the way Sandeep teaches and interacts with the world around him: • Revolutionized Teaching: With the glasses, he can instantly access printed content, making it easier to teach normal sighted students along with visually impaired ones. This has made his teaching more engaging, interactive, and inclusive. • Freedom from Bulky Braille: He no longer has to depend solely on large Braille books. The glasses allow him to read regular printed textbooks, articles, and notes seamlessly. • Increased Confidence: With access to real-time information, Sandeep feels more confident in his role as a leader and educator. • Inspiring Students: His journey has become a living example for students—proving that disability is not a limitation when supported by determination and the right tools. Professional Growth: The glasses have enabled him to explore new teaching techniques, stay updated with educational material, and manage his responsibilities as a principal more effectively.
“All my life, I believed in hard work and confidence, but the Jyoti AI Glasses have given me wings. Teaching has become more interesting, and I feel empowered to guide both blind and sighted students with equal ease. It is not just a device—it is a partner in my journey of education and empowerment.” – Sandeep Trivedi, Principal, Government Blind School
